“Black Utopia” Festival
The “Black Utopia Festival” is a yearly celebration that unites various cultural events with discussions centered around the Black community. The festival aims to facilitate conversations and interactions that allow us to dream and envision the future we aspire to create for ourselves. The voices of community artists and creatives are at the forefront of the festival’s programming.
The Spirala
The Spirala is a political education initiative exclusively for community members. It provides a platform for Ethiopian/black young women and men (ages 20-30) to translate their individual and collective emotions into existing theories, acquire knowledge, and form opinions on issues that affect and concern them as black individuals in a predominantly white environment. The program is grounded in the principles of critical pedagogy, where participants actively engage in group learning and discussion, honing their critical thinking skills, working in teams, presenting ideas, and more.
